An InTrO to me and my life

Hello People,

There was a rare union of the planets on the evening of September 5, 1983 and suddenly there was a flash at 5:46 pm bringing to life a happy go lucky guy by the name Gullapalli Sree Surya Kumar. That is too much for an introduction right, fine in the present world the tool to success is exaggeration.

Going in the chronological order, I joined school at the age of 5 and took admission directly to the Upper Kinder Garden, (don't know who gave me a promotion). This was at Naval kinder garden school in Mumbai. Did well and got promoted to 1st class, come on yaar changed the school, so big an achievement (primary school !!! dude). Did my schooling till my 2nd class in K.V, Mumbai. After that got kicked (dad got transferred) to the town named Rajahmundry (meaning the kings seal). Joined a school which was well known (only till I joined) named St.Ann's, don't mistake it to be a girls school, change your thought module a bit and take it as a co-education institute. Struggled a lot (the teachers) and made a wonderful impression, just tell my name in the school and the walls will also respond (only them, as I was a part of them most of the times having a good exercise of having an invisible seat by the name "wall chair", learned a lot of stress handling techniques though). What else can a person get as a reward in the class except the back bench (u should only be a back bencher to know that) and that too when there are two beautiful Anglo Indians on either side (first thought it to be a lot inconvenient but later came to know its own +ve's as this went on in from 8th to 10th). Then wrote the exams and that too well (unusual u know), the FIR was released and I got 80% (not a joke guys in ICSE).

Till now I was only on ripples, now started the Tsunami. In spite of my tiresome efforts of joining a Govt. college my parents forced me into a private college and the timings morning 7 to evening 7. Now that was too much but, considerable to an extent as there were three awesome girls to look at, whenever the class seemed boring, especially the Sanskrit class was like screwing guys. In addition to that we had weekend exams every Wednesday which were always written well (thanks to Vivekananda, the roll number before me). The first year was fine. Next because of a blackhead, separate classes were allocated to boys and girls and life became the Andaman. Then I took a vow that yes I should work very hard and prove myself, plan out, schedule everything so perfectly that everyone at my house thought I was a regular student, I still owe 50 rupees to my post man who helped me a lot taking personal care and handing over all my letters from my college to me and no one else. Wrote EAMCET and somehow managed to get into Engineering to a very prestigious and well known institute by the name Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engg, Vizag set in the prime location which could be accessed only by foot for a distance of 1.5 km, had a lot of greenery and our neighbors being the forest dwellers. Did Mechanical Engineering, tried for many girls, everyday after my 1st year I remember we were in the Google process and I was the head hunter. But you know none of us could get our kind of a girl (I know Naach na ave aangan teda) ;-). I proposed to a girl and guys if you are not dumb enough you will know why I am still blogging........ The acads were quite ok which had to be for an engineering student and then did a project on "ROBOTICS" (the only thing I did willingly) in the final year. The engg life was over and I neither felt happy nor sad to leave the college.

Came to Bangalore in May 2004, and joined an industry which could accommodate characters like me and was looking forward to them only ( BPO's) joined ICICI OneSource and worked for 6 months, after that thought let us write MBA and wrote CAT got a percentile of 91, oh in between my thought module is like: "Aim for success, not perfection. Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you lose the ability to learn new things and to move forward with your life" So wrote some more exams and waited in anticipation of a call letter and then it came....you know sometimes good things happen. Got a call from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, ok now I know it is not a great thing for an MBA aspirant guys but believe me it is not that bad.

MBA life @ Symbi started of with hatred, schedules starting from like 5:30 in the morning, then jogging, the compulsory ties, batch meet at 6 in the audi, the council, the never ending classes, the working saturdays........man it was baddddd..... I expected pressure but not at such a scale, my laptop came in handy for all the presentations though and it also changed my status from being single to having a storm in my life (realized later though). The first sem was common to all, we had to choose the specializations in the second sem and god knows why I chose Finance of all, cud have taken marketing I feel sometimes cos it is nothing but BS (read Bull SHIT) and that can be done without any bookish knowledge.........ok anyways so I managed to pass the exams. And oh yeah in between the storm that came by made me realize the value of friends and time and money and commitments and what not, the storm lasted more a little over a year and everything was peaceful again for the rest of the last semester. Then came the placements and I got placed with HCL Technologies which is also I don't know why is still my current job (will talk later about it). Then came the convocation we got the degrees and there I was standing on the podium receiving my degree and no one was there to acknowledge the same. That was the first time I missed family. Ok I am getting centi now ...Man that’s not me....trust me it was not me who wrote that, only my fingers typed. Remember the storm guys it will return sometime later.

HCL - India's 5th largest IT company, very strong basics, good management, strong policies, Employee first, everything is damn good. Oh by the way it would be interesting to know that HCL has produced the maximum number of CEO's for other companies, hope I will become one sometime, just kidding guys I want stuff that is more adventurous than applying thoughts. Ok my profile here is that of a Business Analyst, I do stuff with mind blowing terminology, GAP Analysis, Country Analysis, Payment Flows, Process Mapping, man isn’t it sounding WOW. I know ;-). Some interesting stats at this point to note would be my waist went from 32 to 34 and my weight from 72 to 80. So I am sitting a lot on my seat, means I am working a lot. That’s cool. I have traveled quite a bit here. I have been to some South Asian Countries and my experience has been quite good. I find places are much cleaner and people have a lot of respect for Indians everywhere else than in India itself which is sad to know though. The storm you remember I was mentioning before I came to know from some friend of mine is engaged to some guy recently, God Bless Him. Oh guys by the way I jotted all this sitting in my seat in the office.........I am an Analyst here....analyzing my own life....... Would be updating stuff as it comes along.

And all you guys took pains to read this stuff, that’s so cool, but seriously if u are doing it from office welcome to the world of Analysts.

Have a good one guys........Take care.
